Rocky enjoys learning about different cultures, especially the music of these cultures. She tries to utilize traditional instruments and learn the history of the instrument. At the same time, she's also trying to create a hybrid situation and see how traditional instruments can be used in a modern situation.

Rescore, Life of Pi

2023

This is a hybrid of classical Hindustani music and an orchestral piece composed by Rocky to the whale scene of Life of Pi. Rocky focuses on the genre Khayal and researched the classical Hindustani music theory, specialty, and Hindustani culture.

2022

This is 8 minute hybrid Japanese and orchestral piece composed by Rocky to the gameplay of Ghost of Tsushima. In order to precisely picture the history of Japan that appears in the game, Rocky researched traditional Japanese music and culture.

Born and raised in China, Rocky is influenced by the traditional Chinese music a lot and she admires and cherishes the culture carried through the music. The piece is a hybrid orchestral piece that incorporates traditional Chinese instruments and western orchestral instruments.

Rocky also composes other genres such as hip-hop, electronic music, pop songs, and musicals. Besides being a composer, Rocky is also the artistic director of her dance team. She choreographs and makes music cuts for performances and competitions.
